Here is a photo of my Advent Calendar!! I made this before December 1st. It took a really long time to make, but it was so much fun! My daughter, Kayley made one as well. Hers had a wintery theme. We worked on these together, and it was great because we kept each other motivated. Now that they are all done my kids love checking the envelopes each day to see what it is that we do for the day. Today's said to take a treat to the neighbor. I better get baking lol. I purchased the directions for this calendar at Kristina Werner's Blog. It was $5.00.

Paper: Stampin Up
Numbers: Templates, Crickut, & Sizzix
Stamps: Elzybells, Amuse, & Stampin Up
Punches: Stampin Up, Martha Stewart, and Others

I sent some halloween cards to my family. I wanted to send a picture too.
So I sent them a picture of the kids all dressed up in their costumes. These
cards are also in a sense recycled. I partly made all of these cards for a swap.
But the swap fell through. So I finished them up this year and mailed them
out.

Thursday, October 23, 2008

I gave this card to my swapping buddy! My friend Pam and I swap cards once a week. She is such an awesome stamper. Each week we have a challenge and then we mail our cards within a week's time. The weekly challenges make you step out of your comfort zone and do techniques and sketches that you wouldn't normally do. It also pushes us to do things we would like to try but never do. This week's challenge was to do a recipe card. This card would be given with some yummy apple crisp. I got the idea originally from Michelle Wooderson. The only difference is this card will be given away not placed in an adorable recipe box.

Stamps: Lockhart Stamps
Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss, Red Riding Hood Red
Buttons: I do not know the brand. I think I bought them at AC Moore years ago.
Tools: Nestibilities Large Scallop Circle

Here is my Halloween / Fall Inspiration Station. This concept was originated by Michelle Wooderson. My Basket may not be fancy, but that is ok. It is functional. This is a great way to get my projects underway with everything at my fingertips. While I was gathering all of my goodies I realized that I had more than I thought. There are a lot of items here that have not even touched ink. YIKES! I hope that will change now that I have everything ready to go. We'll see, I will let you know how it goes.

I made this card for a challenge. The challenge was to use jute. So I decided to break out my Cat's Pajamas Western Set. The cardstock and printed paper is Stampin Up. I colored it using Prismacolor pencils.

WOW!! I am so sorry that I have not posted in over a month. I really do not have an excuse. Just lazy maybe. I was busy finishing out the summer with the kiddies. Trying to enjoy all the freedom of summertime. Then school began and BOOM!! time to get back in the groove. As a homeschool mom I do not have as much time to play. Then sports, music, and church start back up too. That is a lot of running and doing. ANYWHOOO!!!!! (is that a word?) I made this group of goodies for my Secret Sister. I used the new Stampin' Up set Party Hearty and I bought the Simply Scrappin' Kit to go with it. The card with the cupcake is a Suspension card. It was fairly easy to make. You can get directions for this card on Splitcoaststampers.

These were made for my stamp club members. The spiral pad has a post it note inside. I used Bella Rose Stampin' Up Designer Paper, the NEW Su Scallop Edge Punch, and the new SU In Colors. The top photo is just a button topper. A cute little hand out.

Today I decided to play with some chipboard. I wasn't planning on making a card, BUT it turned into a card by the time I was finished. I used a Stampin Up chipboard frame and I covered it with Stampin Up designer series paper. Then I took my sizzix cupcake die cut and ran it through using chipoard. I ran the cupcake through again using Mircella printed paper found at Target. LOVE IT!! I glued the cupcake onto the chipboard cupcake and put it in the center of the frame. Last, I added embellishments and the sentiment. If you haven't tried chipboard give it a try. There are so many possibilities.

I am waiting for A Muse to open their NEW online store. YAY!
Here is a card I created for Taylor VanBruggen's Cupcake Friday Challenge #26. I used the same image that Taylor did because I just got this stamp and was dying to use it. Happy 4th of July!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope everyone is planning a wonderful day to celebrate our country. This is a card I made my wonderful neighbors. On Memorial Day we had our annual Flag raising Ceremony with our kids. I decided to take pictures as I always do. Then I noticed my neighbors house. It looked so cute with the flowers on the porch and the flag hanging out front. I took a couple of pictures of their house. I then remembered that Cornish Heritage Farms had released their new Thomas Kinkade stamp: Hometown Pride. I love this stamp.
I thought the photo of their house would be so cute in a card made with this stamp. So I bought the stamp from CHF and created this card for my neighbors. I will deliver it today! I hope they will like it. I am bringing them some treats too.

Supplies:

Stamp: Hometown Pride (CHF), SU God Bless America
Paper: SU Real Red, Bashful Blue, & Night of Navy

I am getting ready to head to Durham, NC for a scrapbook getaway. Here are the goodie bags I made for everyone. I had all of the supplies for the bags. I didn't buy anything. Inside I have a sticky notes with sticky bookmarks, RSVP matching pen, pack of tissues, breath mints, a SU stamp, and a pack of ribbon. The Bella tag is to attach to their scrapbook bag. I used Jammybella and Stamping Bella to create the tags. This idea was inspired by Michelle Wooderson. She has some wonderful ideas.

Here are two other cards I made also using Copics. I may put a tutorial here on my blog for those interested in seeing how easy they are to use. These two stamps I have in these pictures are from Lockhart Stamp Co. I love their charming little designs that they offer. I purchased these stamps from Ellen Hutson. I love her Store. All day today she is offering 10% off. Woo Hoo!

Yesterday, my dh had to go to Statesville, NC to pick up an item he had purchased on Ebay. So I
decided to tag along and stop at stamp store in Mooresville only a few minutes away. I went to Stamper's Alley. It was a very cute store packed with stamps and other goodies. My daughter and
I had a lot of fun browsing and oohing and ahhing at everything. In the store they had the cutest boards with the most adorable cards on them. I have seen some of these boards before. The stamp company is called Great Impressions. They have the prettiest boards with the cutest stamps.
Here is a kitty they had on one of the idea boards.
I am not a cat lover, but I like cat stamps. Go figure!
So here is a card I created using MFT and my Copics.
I love them by the way. I need more. I will add to
my collection a little at a time. Very expensive little
markers.

Here are some super simple Mother's Day cards using a PaperTrey Ink stamp set. This is a zero layer card. All I did was stamp the flowers and the Mother's Day saying. The card already had the pink border around it. My mom bought the cards for me at CVS a couple of years ago on clearance. Pixie Pink Ink from Stampin Up matched perfectly. The cards only took me like 20 minutes to make. WOW!! that is fast for me!!

VSN FASHIONISTA was this past weekend. My daughter and I love participating In Splitcoast's Virtual Stamp Nights. The theme this time was fashion. We had so much fun with this theme. We only wish we had more time to submit more cards and such. My daughter Kayley 11 did the bottom three. She did them without much help from me. I am so impressed with her abilities. Most important we had fun working together on our projects and spending some "fun" time together.
